Wellington

Set in the historic and picturesque neighbourhood of Glenora, the Wellington project was a thoughtful reimagining of a classic Georgian home. We had assisted the homeowners on their search, spanning years, for a property with renovation potential, and this home—with its stately entrance and tree-lined surroundings—proved to be the perfect fit.

While rich in character, the home lacked functionality, with inefficient layouts and limited storage throughout. The homeowners had a clear vision: they needed more thoughtful space planning and ample storage solutions in nearly every room. The kitchen, in particular, was neither bright nor practical, prompting a complete transformation. We opened walls, added beams, and reworked the windows to invite natural light and create connection to the back garden and swimming pool. The result is a space that feels as effortless as it is elegant—rooted in history yet undeniably suited for modern family life.

The home bore layers of its past, with original details interwoven with remnants of a 1970s renovation. Our approach was to thoughtfully restore and refine, ensuring a seamless integration of old and new. On the upper floor, we introduced a dedicated laundry room and redesigned the layout to provide every bedroom with its own ensuite, including a newly envisioned primary suite—each space tailored to the needs of this growing family.

The Wellington project is a study in balance: classic yet fresh, refined yet livable—a home that honours its past while embracing its future.
