Marlboro

Nestled in a home already imbued with Parisian inspirations, the Marlboro Road project was a full-home decorating transformation that embraced layers of design to create a refined yet inviting interior. The homeowners, drawn to classic European aesthetics, sought a seamless evolution of their home’s story—one that blended timeless elegance with a thoughtfully curated feel that would provide comfort and joy for their family.

With a decade since their last renovation, they were ready to embark on a new design journey, prioritizing depth, warmth, and functionality in every space. Their inspirations were rich with detail: layered lighting, tailored drapery, original artwork, sculptural furniture forms, and antiques— adding a sense of history to the space—all working in harmony to create an atmosphere of elevated comfort.

Transforming the long, featureless corridor from a mere passageway into an immersive experience of art and beauty was a defining challenge of this project. Rather than allowing it to remain a bland, transitional space, we curated a journey—one where shifting sunlight plays across a thoughtfully layered composition of antiques, newly framed artworks, and collected pieces, each telling its own story. A pair of plush, charcoal-hued velvet chairs that add a moody richness, inviting moments of pause. The pièce de résistance: a spectacular jacquard fabric with an oversized ikat-inspired chevron pattern, reinterpreted through a contemporary Native American lens, infusing the space with bold sophistication. The interplay of texture, colour, and light turns this once-overlooked hallway into a dynamic, artful passage—one that evolves throughout the day, revealing new nuances with every step.
