High Point Market: Spring 2024

In the ever-evolving world of interior design, staying ahead of the curve means immersing oneself in the latest trends and innovations. As experts in our craft, we make it a point to travel to the largest furniture markets worldwide to truly experience emerging design elements firsthand. The Stephenson House team has just returned from our trip to the sprawling High Point furniture market in North Carolina, a runway show for upcoming furniture collections.

The tactile experience of attending market provides far more value than perusing catalogue pages or browsing online galleries. It's about engaging with all of the details that allow us to fully grasp the nuances of each design element.
It's an opportunity to sit test, feeling the handcrafted frame of a sofa beneath us, to feel the soft fibres of a coveted rug, to be awed by architectural light fixtures and furniture forms, and to gain knowledge in design technologies and innovations.

Style Movements

As we made our way through the labyrinth of displays and showrooms, certain motifs began to emerge, signalling the evolution of timeless design elements. The best of both worlds; heritage and innovation have merged for the perfect take on New Traditional design - our expertise.

Skirted Furniture

Emerging as a fresh take on classic design, with a pronounced feminine emphasis. Cascading fabrics gracefully conceal structural elements, lending a soft, ambiance to tailored furniture arrangements.

Traditional Sofa Arms

Rolled, saddleback and pleated: this classical revival has received a contemporary twist. Time-honoured silhouettes are reimagined with sleek lines and unexpected details, for a true blend of traditional and modern.

Pleated & Patterned Lamp Shades

These shades are making a triumphant return, adding a touch of elegance and refinement to lighting fixtures. Intricate folds and classic patterns create depth and dimension, casting a soft, diffused light that elevates any space.

Natural Rug Materials

Cashmere and silk are stealing the spotlight, bringing the beauty of nature into interior spaces. These luxurious textiles boast an unparalleled tactile experience, acting as the foundation to any well-designed space.
