Loft Living

What started as a decorating project turned into a full renovation and interior architectural design after a flood precipitated a second phase in this one-of-a-kind loft space in Edmonton. Given the building’s rich history, we maintained the architectural style of the space, incorporating new materials with an old world feel. Now the best unit in the building by far, the upgrades we made (including the spiral staircase to the lower level and adding exposed beams to the 15-foot ceilings) are great for resale when our client outgrows the space. The kitchen received a complete overhaul and was redesigned from scratch.

In true historical building fashion, the only element that had to be incorporated into the new kitchen was an original wood post. We gave our client a cozy, multi-purpose den area with lounge-y vibes outfitted for dining, card games, and enjoying drinks with friends. We sought out bright, colourful artwork in keeping with their essence. Performance upholstery, leather touches, elevated lighting, and a custom-made bar cabinet lends itself perfectly to both downtown nightlife and a restorative retreat.
